Microblading FAQs

Q: How long does Microblading last?

A: Microblading is a semi-permanent treatment, therefore regular top-up is advised once every 12-18 months.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: This is a very common question we receive from our clients. At EYESBROWS we use two separate numbing cream/gel. One that is applied before the procedure and one that is used straight after the first a few hair strokes. You may feel a little discomfort although it is not unbearable. Once the second gel is applied you may not feel much throughout the procedure. The procedure is carried out in 3-4 layers and most of our clients find it relaxing after the first layer. (Note: every individual has a different pain pressure hold, therefore every client may have a different experience.)

Q: What happens if I don’t keep up with my regular top up every year?

A: Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure, which means that the pigment naturally and gradually fades out. A colour refreshment is required every 12-18 months and if you decide to stop, depending on your skin type it may take around 2-3 years for the colour to disappear almost completely.

Q: How long is the procedure?

A: Depending on your brow shape and how full/thin they naturally are, the procedure could take up to two hours. The majority of this time is spend on the preparation which includes brow measurements, tidy up, deciding the shape and pigment colour …etc.

Q: Can I attend to my appointment with my friend/family?

A: No third party is allowed in our treatment room. It is advised to attend to your appointment alone to avoid any kind of distractions, however your family/friend is welcome to wait in the waiting area. Bear in mind that this could take up to 2 hours.

Q: Can I have this procedure done before my holiday?

A: It is not ideal to have this procedure done before holidays where there will be direct sun and heat. Your brows will need to go through the healing process and they cannot be in direct sun/UV light for 8 weeks in total (4 weeks after the initial treatment and 4 weeks after top-up procedure) and that includes sunbed. The treated area also cannot get wet for days after the procedure.

Q: Can I have this procedure done after my holiday/Tan?

A: If you already have a tan from sunbed/holiday, you would have to leave your skin to rest for at least 6 week before having this procedure done.

Q: Can I have this procedure done before a party/special occasion?

A: It is not advised to have this procedure done right before any kind of special occasion .Your brows will need to go through the healing process and a good after-care to achieve the desired look. No makeup can be applied on the treated area for at least 7 days.

Q: How should I wipe my face after the procedure?

A: You can use a gentle face wipe/makeup remover avoiding the treated area.

Q: For how long can I not get my brows wet after the microblading procedure?

A: Everyone heals differently. Some heal faster than others. Nevertheless, for at least 7 days after the procedure, you must keep the treated area away from water, dirt, sweat (from the workout) and makeup.

Q: Can I still wear makeup on my eyes after my eyelash extension treatment?

A: We advise you not to wear mascara on your eyelashes as that is the whole purpose of having this treatment done, that you don’t have to put mascara on… however if you still prefer to wear mascara, make sure that you avoid water-proof makeup, as each time you try to remove your makeup you will damage your eyelashes. YOU MUST have no mascara on, on the day of your treatment (esp for your infills). you must cleanse your eyelashes prior to your treatment.

Q: Is having patch test necessary? “I have had this treatment done before”.

A: YES!! having patch test done for the treatments that involve chemical products is a MUST at our salon. we hear this quite often, but you will still need to have a skin test at our salon even if you have had it done elsewhere before as they could be different products that you’ve had. it is for your own health and safety!

Q: How long do the Brow Extensions last?

A: Brow extensions could last up to 2 or even 3 weeks if the after care has been followed correctly! As some of the hairs are attached to your skin, it depends how you treat them afterwards to help them stay. The after care will be given on the day you have your treatment done.

Brow shaping FAQs

Q: How often do I need to have my brows done?

A: this depends on your natural hair growth. We advice you to keep up with your brow treatments every 3-4 weeks!

Q: Do I need skin test for my tint treatments? “I have had that done elsewhere before”.

A: YES!! having patch test done for the treatments that involve chemical products is a MUST at our salon. we hear this quite often, but you will still need to have a skin test at our salon even if you have had it done elsewhere before as they could be different products that you’ve had. it is for your own health and safety!

Q: What is best for me, threading or waxing?

A: people have different opinions on each of these treatments. It all depends on your hair type and how long you have left them to grow. To suggest the best treatment that suits you, you best coming in the salon for a quick consultation. However generally for first timers and for those who leave their brows more than 5 weeks to grow before having them done we usually recommend wax. At our salon we make sure you get the same standard result with both so there is no big difference in final results, although wax is quicker and rather less painful; but again people find it differently then you would have to try it for yourself!
